It started with a glimmer of hope.

Our Team.

At Reef Gardeners, we combine mangrove, seagrass and coral reef restoration with stakeholder integration. Our goal is to raise awareness and educate local communities while conducting targeted reef restoration activities, primarily funded through project investments from local luxury hospitality stakeholders.

However, to get our first nursery into the water and cultivate healthy coral to kickstart this project, we need your help.

Restoration.

Contributions help us grow, plant and protect resilient mangrove, seagrass and corals to revive degraded and threatened ecosystems. Our mission is to expand our restoration efforts around Mauritius and empower local communities to become preservers as part of a bluer economy, encouraging eco-tourism opportunities.

Education.

As part of our mission to raise awareness, we aim to educate local communities on the important of conservation. By teaching local communities from a young age, we hope to foster a future generation filled with innate Reef Gardeners, with the principles of preservation and conservation as core values.

Integration.

Our activities aim to involve not only local communities but also visitors from other countries in our restoration activities around the island. Our goal for awareness and education is to give all those we encounter the knowledge and values needed to take back home and start fostering a better environment, for the world we want to see tomorrow.

All the ways your contributions help make a difference.

How you can make a difference.

Once-Off Donation

Your once-off donation will contribute toward our monthly operating expenses. While we understand not everyone can give monthly, a small, once-off contribution can help make a difference.

This contribution will aid toward purchasing materials needed to build our nursery structure and facilitating it's deployment into our nursery site.

Monthly Donation

When you contribute monthly to Reef Gardeners, it allows us to plan ahead. This foresight enables us to routinely monitor and manage our nursery when it gets deployed into water.

Your ongoing monthly gift will enable consistency in this early phase of our project, until we have a well developed nursery to involve stakeholders.

Why Donate

While we have a team of industry experts, driven by the passion to bring about the change we want to see in the local reefs of Mauritius, we need like-minded people like you to help take us over the starting line.

The reefs of Mauritius are almost completely lost. Help us raise the funds we need to get our first nursery into the water so we can begin reef restoration projects around Maurtius.
